Gilbane Building Company Celebrates Grand Opening of the New Oswego Police Station

New police station grand opening marks a significant step for the rapidly growing community

Oswego, IL – October 26, 2018 –  Village of Oswego officials, community members, Gilbane Building Company, HOK Group, Inc. Architects and trade contractors gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new $30 million Village of Oswego Police Station. The community celebrated this significant milestone with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new facility.

“The new Oswego police station adds much needed space for the Village to function more efficiently due to the Village’s growing population,” said Tom Leonard, Gilbane Building Company Senior Project Executive. “Gilbane has enjoyed working with the Village of Oswego, the Oswego Police Department, HOK and the trade contractor community while constructing this essential facility.”

Gilbane provided construction management services for the new 70,000 SF police station in the Village of Oswego, located within 50 miles of Chicago. Oswego is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. Due to the rapid growth of the county, the existing police station caused significant design limitations and caused the police to outgrow their facility, resulting in the decision to build a new police station. The new police station also includes parking for 170 vehicles and is slated to achieve LEED Silver certification.
