Scope of work will include expansion of existing courthouse

Waukesha, WI – March 11, 2019 – On Monday, March 11, officials from Waukesha County, Gilbane Building Company, Zimmerman Architectural Studios, Inc., trade contractors and the community came together to celebrate the official groundbreaking for the Waukesha County Courthouse expansion project.

The addition of the 62,000 SF courthouse and holding area began with demolition on site this week in Waukesha County. The work involves overseeing the preparation of the budget, design and demolition of the original jail facility and intake court, as well as construction of a four-story addition that will house eig width=ht new court rooms. The addition will include a three-way separation as recommended by the National Center for the Courts.
