Gilbane Building Company Breaks Ground on New Operating Room Suite at Danbury Hospital

Renovation includes five new operating rooms and one catheterization laboratory

Danbury, Connecticut – June 21, 2018 – Officials from Danbury Hospital, Western Connecticut Health Network, and Gilbane Building Company gathered on June 21 to celebrate the groundbreaking of Danbury Hospital’s new operating room suite.

Gilbane is serving as construction manager for the 13,500 SF renovation located on the 4th floor of the Buck Pavilion, a 316,000 SF, $123 million addition completed by Gilbane in 2014. When complete, the 4th floor will house five new operating rooms and a catheterization laboratory.

“It’s exciting to be back transforming this space after managing the original Buck Pavilion project,” notes Chris Enders, Project Executive at Gilbane Building Company. He added, “We’re looking forward to another successful project that will help the hospital serve its growing community.”
