Jupiter, Florida – May 2017 – Gilbane Building Company, the number one contractor for K-12 education in the country (Building Design & Construction 2016), was awarded preconstruction and construction services on multiple projects for local school districts in South Florida. Broward County Public Schools awarded Gilbane both the Northeast High School and Stranahan High School projects.  The School District of Palm Beach County also awarded Gilbane Construction Management at-Risk services for continuing contracts under $2 million, as well as the renovations at Spanish River High School.

As one of Florida’s premier educational facilities builders, Gilbane brings vast and in-depth experience in the K-12 marketplace. Gilbane will work with the districts throughout the various construction phases to maintain active campuses with minimal or no disruption.

Northeast High, located in Oakland Park, was built in 1963 with various expansions and renovations completed over the entire life of the facility. The improvement project will bring the currently occupied facilities up to date with building codes and standards and to meet the trends in education. The 280,786-square-foot campus currently encompasses 29 buildings and 3 portables. Gilbane will begin with the single point of entry upgrades with the balance of renovations to include:

  • Roof and loggia replacements
