Gilbane Building Company Announces Appointment of Robert Hayes as Division Leader of Florida-based Business
Orlando, Florida – October 2016 – Gilbane Building Company announced that Robert Hayes, Vice President, has been appointed division leader for the State of Florida. In keeping with Gilbane’s commitment to quality client service, the company has taken the step in realigning the current business units throughout Florida under one management and operational structure. Led by Hayes, this comprehensive shift in leadership and operational strategy will drive long-term growth and continue to position Gilbane as a top provider of construction services throughout Florida.
Hayes has a distinguished construction portfolio working in key markets from commercial buildings to healthcare, from sports and entertainment to institutional projects. He has been instrumental in the tremendous growth Gilbane has witnessed in Florida. His contributions have led to major projects underway including B Braun Daytona Manufacturing Facility, University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute, Osceola County School District New High School, and several healthcare projects including Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Orlando Health Central Skilled Nursing Facility.

Working with the local leadership teams, he will focus on the development, implementation and management of the operational activities to enhance Gilbane’s services. With the integration of the organizational structure, Hayes will focus on servicing clients in four strategic areas; Southwest, Central Florida, Southeast and North Florida. With the revised operating structure, related changes will take place among other business units in the state providing increased operational efficiencies. As part of the management structure, he will continue to report to William Gilbane, Jr., Vice Chairman of Gilbane, Inc.
Tim Hensey, who has been in the industry for 30+ years and currently serves as Vice President, will assume leadership of the Southwest area expanding business with an emphasis on the Tampa/St. Petersburg and Sarasota geographies. Major projects include Hillsborough Community College Allied Health Building, Museum of the American Arts and Crafts Movement and Florida Gulf Coast Student Academic Health and Life Fitness Center.
Scott Gasaway, Area Manager in Orlando will provide executive level oversight and national account management for to one of Gilbane’s globally recognized themed entertainment clients. He has served in numerous senior executive roles in areas including business unit leadership, construction operations, strategic planning and business development over his 20-year career.
Ted Cava will lead the Southeast as Area Manager with a focus on developing business in key emerging geographies including Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade Counties. Cava has served in numerous operational roles in areas including construction operations and strategic planning. Key projects include Baptist Health South Proton Therapy Center, Norton Museum, Azure luxury condominiums, and Broward County School District.
