Gilbane Awarded Well Workplace Designation by WELCOA

Demonstrating commitment to protecting and enhancing the health and well-being of employees

Providence, RI – April 2016 – Gilbane Building Company has received the Gold Designation in the National Well Workplace Awards sponsored by WELCOA.

This honor recognizes employers who embrace maximizing the health and well-being of employees by developing comprehensive programs that are a strategic and integral part of the overall business. Core components reviewed by WELCOA include senior level support, cultural commitment, the organization’s wellness operating plan, appropriate interventions, and outcome reporting.

Gilbane’s wellness program has been in place for more than five years, creating a culture of wellness through workplace policies such as adopting a smoke free workplace, annual fitness reimbursement, and flu shot reimbursement. In conjunction with Gilbane’s strategic wellness partner, The StayFit Plan, a division of Simplicity Health Plans, Gilbane has utilized data analytics to assess the health risks of its population in order to create meaningful programs designed to address these risks. Programming includes companywide health challenges, telephonic health coaching, biometric health screenings, and health education programs. Gilbane’s overall program engagement is 75 percent and employee program satisfaction is 96 percent.
