Evan Synstad Relocates to Charlotte to Expand Gilbane Building Company’s Portfolio in North Carolina
Charlotte, NC – March 4, 2019 –Gilbane Building Company is pleased to announce Evan Synstad’s Charlotte relocation to help continue Gilbane’s growth within North Carolina. In his role, Evan will work with local leaders to increase Gilbane’s footprint in Charlotte, drawing on his personal background in both operations and client relations. Evan has a unique understanding of the business, clients’ needs and, ultimately, how to partner to deliver projects.
Evan started working as an intern for Gilbane while at Virginia Tech. After graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering he began his career in Gilbane’s Richmond, VA office. There he led several notable projects, including the renovation of the Altria Theater and the buildout of a large corporate headquarters in downtown Richmond. In 2015 he transferred to San Jose, CA as a business development manager to help grow Gilbane’s Bay Area presence. While in San Jose, Evan helped establish an interiors practice and significantly grow Gilbane’s “At-Risk” portfolio across the California market.

Evan has worked with clients across the country including public higher education institutions, technology companies and law firms. In his role he will oversee client development and relationship management in Charlotte, NC. Additionally, his role will include diversifying Gilbane’s portfolio and growing its interiors business within North Carolina. Evan recently spoke at the Advancing Collaborative Delivery Conference on project execution best practices including the benefits of early collaboration and change management. Evan is also an active member of CoreNet, including co-chairing the Special Events Committee.
