Andrew Ang is Executive Development Director at Gilbane Development, where he leads the firm’s national student housing platform and directs its operations. In this role, Andrew spearheads market expansion strategies, identifies new growth opportunities, and oversees the full pre-development lifecycle, including due diligence, entitlements, and design oversight, for privatized student housing projects. A proven leader in real estate development, Andrew has successfully structured and closed numerous joint venture agreements, cultivating strong partnerships with equity investors and development collaborators to deliver projects on time and achieve financial closings. His ability to align strategic vision with execution has been instrumental in advancing Gilbane’s position as a premier developer of student housing communities.
Since joining Gilbane in 2013, Andrew has directed a portfolio of student housing projects valued at more than $1.1 billion, transforming campus living experiences across the country. Signature developments under his leadership include The Apollo at Arizona State University, The Current at Cal Poly Pomona, Bixby at Kennesaw State University, and Sierra at Oregon State University, each recognized for design excellence and community impact.
Andrew holds a Master of Science degree in real estate finance and investment from New York University, a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Wales, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in architectural studies from the National University of Singapore.
