Vision Is Priceless (VIP) was founded in Jacksonville, FL as a non-profit organization in 1996 to fulfil a need in the community for vision screenings. These screenings identify problems as early as possible for those at risk for eye disease. When screenings detect potential problems, clients are then referred to their eye care professionals for proper treatment. Those who lack insurance and are low-income are provided a free eye exam through the Vision Is Priceless network of volunteer optometrists and ophthalmologists.
The mission of the Vision Is Priceless council is to serve as the premier community resource for improving the vision health of First Coast children and adults through screening, referral, and education. The nonprofit provides vision screenings for over 39,000 children and 3,300 adults annually and is funded by donations, grants and fundraising events.
Adam Verducci, Project Executive, at Gilbane Building Company is a board member of this organization and an advocate for its critical work. He recently put together a Gilbane team from the Jacksonville office to participate in a walk to benefit vision health. The walk was 2 miles around Riverside Park in Jacksonville and raised money and awareness for vision health.
Vision Is Priceless serves Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau, and Baker Counties.
