In 2020, Gilbane joined with fellow general contractors: DPR, Turner Construction, Mortenson, McCarthy, and Clark Construction Group to create a consortium titled “Time for Change” with a single purpose: identifying ways to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in construction. Through this effort, Construction Inclusion Week was born.
Announcing Construction Inclusion Week
The inaugural Construction Inclusion Week is scheduled for October 18, 2021- October 22, 2021.
We hope you will join us in this opportunity to change the construction industry. From safety to job site technology, our industry has made the most progress when we work together. The actions of individual firms may move the needle, but fostering sustainable and buildable change requires unity, common focus on achieving shared goals, and taking bold steps.
Planning for Construction Inclusion Week
Construction Inclusion Week will build awareness, celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion while providing educational and business resources for our industry. The theme for the inaugural Construction Inclusion Week is “Building the Foundation for Inclusion.” Planning is underway, and topics will include:
- Leadership commitment & accountability
- Unconscious bias
- Supplier diversity
- Jobsite culture
- Community outreach
