Building on Thankful Traditions and Community

Building on family traditions during the holiday season is embedded in our culture at Gilbane Building Company.  As we continue to expand globally, we strive to fulfill our commitment to building more than buildings in the local communities in which we serve.  Just as you can count on the bell ringers outside of your local markets this season, we can count on our teams and their continued dedication to make a difference and build better communities. With all that is going on in the world, it seems appropriate to share some of these efforts to build the momentum of giving back with gratitude and to thank our clients, employees and partners for their support.

Vanity is not the point for volunteers in a food bank.  Our teams have a generous track record of not only stocking the shelves, but also prepping dinners for the homeless and other needy recipients all across our divisions.

Making it Count

At Gilbane, we facilitate a company-wide United Way campaign annually that allows employees to choose to donate to local agencies of need across the country.  They can make their generosity count in their own home towns with specific agencies where they have a personal connection or where they know the need is the greatest.

Putting Others First

At a critical project in Northern Massachusetts, our teams have been working relentlessly to get families back into their homes after a disaster affected several communities there.  On what little down time employees had, they came together to raise money and collect food for a local shelter.  What an amazing example they have set to support a community that is rebuilding.

Helping One Another

As part of our comprehensive benefits program, we offer a PTO (paid time off) donation program.  Voluntarily, employees can donate certain amounts of PTO to provide paid time off for co-workers in times of hardship during a family medical emergency.  The option has helped many of our team members through the tough times and made us stronger as a family-owned company.
