Action Guide: Supporting Strong Allyship

July 28, 2020

Two years ago, Gilbane created employee resource groups (ERGs) which are voluntary, employee-led groups dedicated to creating an inclusive work culture. All employees are welcome in each of our ERGs, and the role of allies has been critical in our ERGs’ successes. In June, we embarked on a journey to tell diverse stories and describe our efforts to promote inclusion through Gilbane Ink’s ERG Ally Series.

Each ERG has a senior leader and an executive sponsor, and for the Ally Series they shared ideas and explained how we care, we ally and we unite. As we wrap up the series this week, we have developed an Action Guide for Allyship to recommend some of the ways for all of us to be better allies. We realize that conversation, education, and our commitment to standing up against systemic racism, discrimination, and inequality must be an ongoing focus.
