As a veteran construction management professional, Mr. Utsey brings over 35 years of leadership experience and engagement within the civic community from across diverse market sectors, including healthcare, mixed-use, higher education, cultural, and hospitality. In his previous roles, Mr. Utsey has been instrumental in developing strategic solutions to support business growth while delivering transformational projects. Robert will bring his formidable statewide reputation in business development, community service, and relationship management to Gilbane.

Robert is actively involved in economic development and community initiatives that notably included his contribution to being a founding co-chair for the Orlando Economic Partnership. He has also been on the board for the Foundation for Seminole State College, the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Currently, he is a board member of the Seminole County Sheriffs and Orange County Sheriffs Foundations.

Robert earned a Masters in Executive Leadership, Business Management and Strategy from IMD Business School and holds a Bachelor of Business degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Florida.
