Columbus, OH – October 10, 2022 – Gilbane Building Company is pleased to announce that Marleise Ryan has joined the company in Columbus as the new economic inclusion manager. In this role, Ryan will foster and strengthen relationships throughout the community to achieve company and supplier diversity goals. Ryan joins Gilbane in the wake of its historic effort to generate $4 billion in awards over five years to certified minority and women-owned businesses (M/WBEs) and disadvantaged and veteran-business enterprises (D/VBEs) as part of a comprehensive economic inclusion strategy.

“Economic inclusion is fundamental to the success of the initiatives put forward by Gilbane. We are thrilled to have Marleise join our team, as she is well known in the community and brings with her several years of experience advocating for the participation of diverse businesses,” said Mark D. Cunningham, Program Director. “The success of these initiatives is vital to our long-term success at Gilbane because it not only strengthens our projects and communities but also generates a greater impact on our clients.”

Ryan, a Columbus native, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Ohio Dominican University and a Master of Compliance Administrator (MCA) certificate from Morgan State University. “I’m thrilled to join Gilbane and have the opportunity to increase supplier diversity of minority, women, and small disadvantaged businesses in Columbus. With discipline, dedication, and determination, I’m looking forward to starting this new chapter with Gilbane and achieving success in my new role.”

Ryan is a member of several local organizations, including the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials, the American Contract Compliance Association, the National Association of Women in Construction, and the Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce.
