Industry Veteran Matthew Thompson Joins Gilbane Chicago
CHICAGO – August 3, 2022 – Gilbane Building Company announced today that Matthew Thompson has joined the team as Operations Manager for the Chicago office. Thompson has two decades of experience in the Midwest commercial construction industry and will bring his design, construction, and development expertise to the company’s robust and growing Chicagoland portfolio.

Before joining Gilbane, Thompson spent 20 years managing projects and project teams across various sectors in the Midwest, including criminal justice, laboratory, multi-family housing, defense, and historic preservation projects. He has a degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and graduated with distinction from Northwestern University’s MBA program. At Northwestern, Matt specialized in analytical consulting, management strategy, and entrepreneurship and innovation.

Thompson currently lives in Northwestern Suburban Chicago with his wife and four children.
