Glastonbury, CT – June 2021 – Gilbane Building Company has been selected to provide construction management at-risk services for three new, state-of-the-art K-12 education facilities in Connecticut.

North Branford High School – North Branford, CT

 width=Designed by QA+M Architecture, the new, 106,100-SF North Branford High School will accommodate 524 high school students and feature spaces for learning commons, science labs, engineering and technology, culinary arts, media center, arts and music, a gymnasium, and a cafeteria. The school will be constructed in multiple phases over a 30-month period to accommodate for the operations of the existing high school, set to be demolished after construction. A key component of the Gilbane team’s selection was their vast experience in working on occupied school campuses, as the construction site is also adjacent to an operational intermediate school. The team has developed strict safety and logistics measures to ensure minimal disruption to the surrounding community and student safety is paramount.

The North Branford High School is slated for completion by December 2023

Norwalk High School – Norwalk, CT

 width=Designed by Kaestle Boos Associates (KBA), the new Norwalk High School will be built in multiple phases over a 46-month schedule to accommodate operations of the existing school, which is adjacent to the project site and will remain occupied during construction until its eventual demolition. The new high school will accommodate new and improved educational spaces and technologies for approximately 2,000 students, including new classroom/lab spaces, gymnasium, kitchen/cafeteria, auditorium, natatorium, and parking. The existing science wing will remain and undergo a complete renovation.

The new Norwalk High School is slated for completion by February 2027.

Bullard Havens Technical High School – Bridgeport, CT

 width=Designed by JCJ Architecture, the new, 260,000-SF Bullard Havens Technical High School will be built in multiple phases over a 41-month schedule to accommodate operations of the existing school, which is adjacent to the project site and will remain occupied during construction until its eventual demolition. The technical high school will accommodate 13 separate shop programs for approximately 1,000 students, including new classroom/lab spaces, theory rooms, gymnasium, cafeteria, storage space, fieldhouse space, athletic fields, bus garage, and parking.

The new Bullard Havens Technical High School is slated for completion by May 2026.
