Gilbane Development Company Welcomes New Director of Risk Management
New York, NY – November 2, 2023 – Gilbane Development Company is pleased to announce that Carolyn Farino has joined the company as the Director of Risk Management.
Carolyn is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the industry, specializing in project risk solutions and strategic advice. She will be responsible for developing, directing, and administering the overall risk management programs for the company and is based in New York.

Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. John’s University School of Risk Management and has completed the INSEAD Management Development Program 2.0 Leading through Connection. She has also developed a project administrator training program that has benefited various clients.
Prior to joining Gilbane Development Company, Carolyn was a Senior Vice President at Lendlease, where she led the insurance team for the Americas Region with responsibility for all programs for the development, construction, investment, and communities (Military Housing-MHPI and Privatized Army Lodging) business. Prior to Lendlease, she was a Vice President at The Related Companies where she was responsible for the procurement, placement, and management of Owner Controlled and Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP & CCIP), and all other development insurance placements. She also holds several professional designations and licenses, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Underwriting (AU), New York Property/Casualty Broker, OSHA 30.
