Gilbane Building Company Starts Work on Fresenius Kabi Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Expansion
The scope of work includes construction of a new $250 million, state-of-the-art manufacturing campus for generic sterile injectable pharmaceuticals. The expansion will feature fully-automated aseptic filling lines using state-of-the-art isolator technology, expanded lyophilization (freeze-drying) capabilities, formulation areas, a dedicated warehouse for raw materials and components and an administration building with conference center, laboratories, office space and a cafeteria.
“Gilbane is thrilled to be actively engaged as Fresenius Kabi’s construction management partner on this exciting and complex project,” said Jonathan Bos, Gilbane Building Company Project Executive. “Our team is experienced in delivering this type of important facility, acting as a trusted and transparent extension of Fresenius Kabi’s staff to achieve the overall project goals.”
This complex manufacturing facility will be completed utilizing a fast-track, phased design and phased procurement approach to achieve the required construction timeline. The new facility, designed primarily by CRB, is slated for completion in Fall 2019.
