Gilbane Building Company Presented with the Associated Builders and Contractors 2021 Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award
Boca Raton, FL – November 2021 – Gilbane Building Company is pleased to receive the prestigious Associated Builders and Contractors Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award for the new three-story, 58,000-square-foot medical office building and renovation to the existing 18,000-square-foot two-story Jupiter Medical Center-Anderson Family Cancer Institute. The Excellence in Construction awards program honors general and specialty contractors for innovative, high-quality construction, superior safety standards, and notable client satisfaction.
“This award reflects the commitment and dedication to excellence that our team, trades, DSC Architects, and owner have for superb project execution. The result is a beautiful addition and renovation that can provide innovative research and therapies to the surrounding community,” said Heidi DeBenedetti, executive vice president of Gilbane Building Company.
The new facility is recognized as a leading research and treatment center in the region, and the new facility offers state-of-the-art advanced diagnostic services and outpatient treatment. The first floor of the new cancer center is attached directly to the existing cancer center. It consists of a radiation oncology department with renovated existing radiosurgery and radiation therapy vaults, one new linear accelerator vault, a CT simulator, PET/CT, injection rooms, and a seven-room exam clinic. In addition to radiation oncology, the first floor also includes central registration, boutique, retail pharmacy, café, lab space, a resource center, and service and building support areas.
The second floor of the new facility includes 16 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, a draw lab, physician offices, an auditorium, and conference space. In contrast, the third floor houses a 30-treatment room infusion and a pharmacy/chemo compound suite. Patients also have access to an outdoor balcony area.
With a patient-centered approach in mind, the new Anderson Family Cancer Institute also includes healing gardens, water features, and walking trails that enhance the patient experience.
