Strategic leadership transitions in Michigan enhance Gilbane’s local presence

DETROIT, MI – August 12, 2024 – In a strategic move poised to enhance regional growth and community engagement, Gilbane Building Company is pleased to announce two leadership transitions locally in Michigan.

Stephanie Corona is embarking on a new role as a senior business development manager focused on growth in the region’s key markets, including commercial, K-12, higher education, life sciences, and healthcare. Harold Clay has transitioned into a senior economic inclusion specialist role, where he will build relationships throughout the local community to achieve company and supplier diversity goals. These exciting changes reflect Gilbane’s commitment to leaving a lasting positive legacy in the Michigan community.

“We are thrilled to announce Stephanie and Harold’s transitions as we continue to strengthen our presence in Michigan,” said Lynn Rogien, vice president and Michigan business leader for Gilbane Building Company. “Driving economic inclusion and building strategic relationships are core commitments at Gilbane and key drivers to long-term success. Harold and Stephanie are the right people to help us build upon our economic inclusion and business strategies in Southeast Michigan that align with the company’s future growth.”

With over 33 years of industry experience, Stephanie Corona brings diverse skills that significantly contribute to and add value to Gilbane’s clients in Michigan. Her background in preconstruction and operations has enabled her to have an equally strong command of design and construction processes. This experience will greatly enhance her ability to forge and nurture client partnerships. Corona currently serves on the education committee for the Associated General Contractors of Michigan and was a former board member for Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority’s National Foundation. She also actively engages in organizations such as Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Detroit and the National Association of Black Women in Construction (NABIC).

“I am thrilled to take on this career opportunity and bolster our partnerships across Southeast Michigan,” said Corona. “In my time at Gilbane, I have cultivated strong relationships and delivered transformational projects for our clients across the state. I look forward to continuing our mission of building more than buildings and positively impacting our local community.”

With more than 24 years of experience in Michigan, Harold Clay brings a unique combination of strong local ties and significant industry relationships. He is currently an executive coach for the National Minority Supplier Development Council and has served in leadership roles for numerous industry organizations, including the Michigan Minority Contractors Association, Associated General Contractors of Michigan, Detroit Area Construction Association, Winning Futures Mentor Program, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

“I am energized by this pivotal opportunity in my career to advance economic inclusion and deepen Gilbane’s robust ties in Southeast Michigan,” said Clay. “I look forward to collaborating with the talented economic inclusion team at Gilbane to deliver outstanding results and achieve our enterprise and project goals.”

Mark Cunningham, Gilbane Building Company vice president and director of economic inclusion for Michigan, Ohio, and Western Pennsylvania, added, “This role is a natural fit for Harold and leverages his local market knowledge and relationships from his lifetime in Detroit. His appointment further solidifies Gilbane’s commitment to nurturing diverse talent and businesses throughout Michigan.”
