New learning center to serve District’s expanding early childhood program

width=Villa Park, IL – October 11, 2022 – Villa Park School District 45, Gilbane Building Company, and more than 200 community members, recently gathered to celebrate the District’s new Early Childhood Center grand opening. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by tours of the new facility, music, and refreshments. Students and families were also given the opportunity to cut a portion of the ribbon and save their keepsake ribbon as a memento of the day.

Designed by Wold Architects, the 35,000 SF center consolidates the district’s early childhood program into a dedicated, centralized facility. The new building includes 12 classrooms, a gross motor room, staff and therapist offices, and a parent resource lounge. In addition to the Early Childhood Center, Gilbane renovated two middle schools and six elementary schools for the District, including classroom additions at two elementary schools, classroom updates, a refreshed front office/security area, and new finishes.

“Gilbane is excited to celebrate the successful completion of this important project with Villa Park School District 45 and Wold Architects that will serve the community and future generations. We couldn’t be prouder of this new building and the district-wide improvements and hope all the students and staff enjoy the facilities,” said Michelle McClendon, Gilbane Building Company Senior Project Executive
