Craig Campbell II Joins Gilbane Building Company to Lead Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey Economic Inclusion Initiatives
Campbell joins Gilbane from Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW), where he led their supplier diversity program in the City of Philadelphia. While at PGW, Campbell was responsible for compliance with DBE contract provisions, establishing relationships with community organizations, managing the robust DBE reporting plan and verification of DBE certifications. Prior to PGW he worked at The Enterprise Center where he increased the number of minority, woman, and/or veteran owned businesses that were prepared to compete for transportation construction contracts. In addition, he’s worked at the Urban Affairs Coalition where he promoted business development and employment for minorities, women and community businesses and residents.
“I’m excited to welcome Craig to Gilbane’s Philadelphia and New Jersey teams,” said Shawn Carlin, Gilbane vice president and Philadelphia business unit leader. “Gilbane has a $4 billion commitment to small and diverse businesses, and with Craig’s leadership our Philadelphia and New Jersey offices will be better equipped to exceed our economic inclusion goals while continuing to lead the way in creating sustainable growth for diverse businesses in Philadelphia and New Jersey.”
“Gilbane has built a robust economic inclusion program,” said Craig Campbell. “I’m excited to build on the great initiatives and processes already in place, while identifying opportunities to strengthen Gilbane’s commitment to minority, woman and/or veteran-owned businesses in the Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey areas.”
Originally from Greater Philadelphia, Campbell received his B.S. in education from Temple University. Campbell is involved in various community organizations including the African-American Chamber of Commerce, Asian-American Chamber of Commerce, Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council, Women’s Business Enterprise Council-East and the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
