Cleveland, OH – October 28, 2025 – As Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) embarks on its landmark CLEvolution modernization initiative, the CLE Connection Group (CCG), a collaborative design-build team, was selected to deliver one of the most ambitious infrastructure upgrades in the airport’s history.

The CCG is responsible for the design and construction of a new 6,000-space parking garage, a ground transportation center, and a relocated RTA station, all slated to open in 2029. These landside improvements will dramatically enhance passenger access, mobility, and the overall travel experience at CLE.

“Parking and public transportation are at the heart of how passengers access and arrive at an airport,” said Bryant L. Francis, Director of Port Control. “Partnering with CLE Connection Group to deliver an entirely new, world-class structure marks a major step forward in our vision to create a more modern, accessible, and passenger-focused CLE.”

The CCG team brings together firms with deep roots in Cleveland and unmatched expertise in aviation, transit, and parking infrastructure. The team includes Gilbane Building | Donley’s | Next Generation Construction, Independence Excavating, Vocon, Pickard Chilton, DESMAN, Osborn Engineering, and GFT.

With the majority of firms headquartered or operating in the City of Cleveland, the team reflects a strong commitment to local economic impact, community engagement, and design excellence. This partnership was intentionally built to ensure seamless integration of design and construction, accelerate delivery timelines, and create a modern, accessible gateway for CLE passengers.

“We’re proud to partner with the City of Cleveland on this transformative infrastructure initiative,” said Kyle Merrill, Principal-in-Charge of CLE Connection Group (CCG). “We’re bringing together a strong, local, inclusive team to deliver a modern, efficient, and connected experience for travelers and the community. This project will be a great example of collaboration in action, and we’re excited to support the City’s long-term vision every step of the way.”
