Blue Ledge Mine Superfund Site Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS)
Gilbane performs the remedial investigation of an abandoned mine under the CERCLA.
Gilbane is conducting the remedial investigation at the Blue Ledge Mine Superfund Site. Investigation activities began with planning, procurement, and coordination of site characterization, technology testing, and risk assessment activities. Gilbane collected water, soil and biota samples, acquired analytical services and monitoring systems, installed, operated and maintained water and air monitoring systems, and evaluated and compiled the analytical and monitoring data into a project database to facilitate these activities. The data was used to select potential chemical and bio remedial technologies that were tested at the bench and on-site pilot-scale to screen remedial technologies and assess risks and hazards presented by the abandoned mine and remnant wastes.
Adding Client Value for Informed Decision-Making
The project efficiently defines risks and hazards present at the abandoned mine site and evaluates options to reduce them.
