Gilbane Building Company Announces Strategic Relocation of Karen Medeiros to its Mid-Atlantic Division

Seasoned industry veteran brings over 25 years of experience in strategic client development to Gilbane’s mid-Atlantic offices

Karen MedeirosWashington, DC – March 10, 2016 – Gilbane Building Company welcomes Karen Medeiros to its mid-Atlantic offices as Vice President, Sr. Director of Client Development overseeing the Washington, DC metro area and Virginia. In her sixteenth year with Gilbane, Karen previously served as the Director of Gilbane’s global sales and marketing services division based out of Providence, Rhode Island. Prior to that she served as a senior business development manager for the New England Division where she was instrumental in the expansion of the firm’s Massachusetts-based operations.

In her new role, Ms. Medeiros will lead the development of strategic client relationships and industry partnerships while ensuring a continued dedication to Gilbane’s current client base across the region.  She will concentrate on growth in key market sectors including corporate commercial, healthcare, life sciences and education.

Ms. Medeiros is an active member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and is a member of various boards and industry organizations.  “I am looking to become involved with organizations in the DC metro area to continue our commitment of serving the communities in which we work, while making an impact on workforce development and other key economic drivers locally.  The level of energy here is phenomenal,” said Medeiros.  Currently she is working with local students from the Don Bosco Cristo Rey Work Study Program as a corporate partner.  She is a former elected school committee member in the town of Somerset, Massachusetts and a former member of Somerset’s Economic Development Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, is a founding member of the UMass Club located in Boston, MA and serves on the Charlton College of Business Advisory Board.
