College Town receives 2015 BOMA Rochester Recognition Award

College Town chosen for the New Construction category

ROCHESTER, NY. – (May 28, 2015) – Gilbane Development Company and Fairmount Properties are pleased to announce that the College Town Rochester project has been awarded by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Greater Rochester a 2015 BOMA Rochester Recognition Award in the category of New Construction.

The annual award recognizes companies with a strong commitment to ethical business practices in their everyday operations and in response to crises and challenges.

College Town construction was completed in less than 18 months via an accelerated schedule to deliver 4 buildings totaling nearly 350,000 square feet plus a 6-level, 1,600 car parking garage and another 100-car underground garage.  Construction complexity included site and utility work for 14 acres, including moving 80,000 cubic yards of material off site under a strict environmental management plan; installing 550 80-foot deep piles for parking garage foundations; and, creating a new city street through the center of the project (Celebration Drive). Construction began in May 2013, with completion occurring between October 2014 and January 2015.
