Consistency and the willingness to go above and beyond when responding to a client’s needs are hallmarks of an outstanding team and play an invaluable part in establishing a long-term, beneficial partnership. Those traits are on display as Gilbane’s Southeast regional team has built a fantastic relationship with Children’s Healthcare in Atlanta (CHOA) since 2008.
Commenting on how the Gilbane team created and strengthened the relationship, Mark D’Arcy, Director of Healthcare for the Southeast Region, said, “Primarily you build a relationship of trust. All of our projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. We’ve done some extraordinary work for them in a very short period of time.”
During the winter of 2010, Atlanta was blanketed in a significant amount of snow, a rare occurrence. With only a few plows in the entire state, traffic was shut down. However, Atlanta residents were still in need of medical care, especially at the ambulatory and outpatient care centers operated in the region by CHOA. In the face of what could have been a health crisis for Atlanta residents, the Gilbane team pulled together in the face of the storm and was there for CHOA.
“The parking lots were all full of snow,” explained D’Arcy. “The owner called me and within a matter of hours, we took care of their snow removal at these facilities. We took care of that problem after they reached out to someone else in the marketplace who didn’t respond. The key is that the team is responsive to their needs and we’ve almost become an extension of them in a way.
