National Center for Environmental Health (Building 106) and Parking Structure, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Gilbane was selected to provide design/build services the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s headquarters facility. This new administrative building includes a parking deck for CDC to serve the entire campus, particularly the new occupants of this facility. The building and parking structure provides administration and support facilities for 1,022 employees and includes a data center, credit union, conference facility with state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities with access to terraced outdoor plazas. A full service cafeteria is also included.

Central High School
Our project team developed a student inclusion program that was welcomed with great enthusiasm by the inquisitive student body. Construction tours were held along with orientation tours to address emergency egress, care of the new gymnasium finishes and after-school use. Students, school board members, faculty, alumni and subcontractors all signed the steel beams that were set above the entrance during the event. It was a grand event to discuss the revitalization and the safety and quality of the new school.

Gilbane understood the challenges posed by a project such as this. Completed facilities include a combination of laboratory, lab support, and scientific personnel office space to support the facilities which feature large analytical equipment labs, BSL-2 and -3 research areas, clean rooms, radioisotope labs, tissue culture labs, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) suites, and ultra-toxin lab, chemical storage, radioactive chemical waste area, and dedicated autoclave rooms.
